The short answer
Returning residents, expatriates on assignment and diplomats can often bring used household goods and personal effects into Ghana with duty relief, subject to conditions. 7AS Trust confirms eligibility before you ship, prepares the inventory and clears the consignment at Tema Port or Kotoka Airport.

- Prepare a detailed, itemised inventory with approximate values
- Keep new, boxed and commercial-quantity items separate: they are usually dutiable

- Ship vehicles separately; they follow vehicle rules
Documents usually needed
- Passport and Ghana Card or residence documents
- Bill of lading or airway bill
- Itemised packing inventory
- Evidence of residence abroad or employment in Ghana, where claiming relief
- Diplomatic or institutional letters, where applicable
