The short answer

A freight forwarder arranges the movement of goods for you: booking carriers, preparing documents and coordinating every hand-over. 7AS Trust forwards sea, air and road cargo to and from Ghana, and because we also clear and haul, one team owns the shipment from origin to your door.

Choose the right mode

ModeBest forTypical trade-off
Sea FCLFull container loads, heavy or bulky goodsLowest cost per tonne; longest transit
Sea LCLSmall volumes that don't fill a containerPay for space used; extra time to consolidate
AirUrgent, high-value or perishable cargoFastest; priced by chargeable weight
RoadECOWAS neighbours and the SahelDoor-to-door overland; border time varies

Consolidation and deconsolidation

If your shipment is too small for a container, LCL consolidation puts it together with other shippers' cargo. At Tema we receive consolidated boxes, strip them, clear each consignee's goods separately and deliver. Exporters can consolidate several small orders to the same destination to cut cost per unit.

Exports from Ghana

Bookings, container stuffing supervision, export declarations, certificates of origin and product-specific permits for agro-produce, processed food, timber products and manufactured goods. See exporting from Ghana.

Buying on the right Incoterm

Buying FOB or FCA puts freight in your hands and usually lowers landed cost; CIF is simpler but the supplier's freight margin sits inside the price. We will price both so you can compare. Our Incoterms guide explains each rule from a Ghanaian importer's view.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a freight forwarder and a clearing agent?

A forwarder arranges transport; a clearing agent (customs broker) handles customs formalities. We are licensed to do both, so one team is accountable for the whole move.

Can you collect from my supplier abroad?

Yes, through our partner network at origin, on EXW or FCA terms.

Do you arrange cargo insurance?

Yes, on request. We recommend all-risks marine cover for most general cargo.
